Northern Queen Inn – A Name of Quality in Gold Country Area Hotels

Come to the heart of Gold Country in beautiful Nevada City, California! Just a couple hours northeast of the bay area, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, is the gorgeous serene location of the Northern Queen Inn. This hotel in Nevada City, CA is the only place you need for a great stay whether you are a solo traveler, a couple on a romantic getaway, or a family on vacation. Pets are welcome, too!
The Northern Queen Inn is under New Management, and renovations will be complete soon. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi has been re-opened and will remain open year-round! The restaurant will be open in the Spring of 2015, and the old train will be up and running again with the assistance of the Train Museum in the Summer of 2015!
All of the guests at the Northern Queen Inn can now enjoy a complimentary, delicious, hot breakfast each morning with bacon, eggs, potatoes, fruit and more!  We proudly serve local, fresh-roasted Caroline's Coffee!
The staff of the Northern Queen Inn will make you feel welcome and will go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be. If you've never been before, or you just haven't been in a long time, come see why Nevada City was listed as one of the "Top 10 Travel Destinations” in 2012 by Lonely Planet! Yes, 2012 is gone and over, but the charm of Nevada City will remain forever.
The beautiful tall pine trees surrounding our 34-acre property, along with majestic Oaks and our year-round babbling creek, will make you feel like you are right in the middle of nature. We are also just a short drive from the picturesque Yuba River State Park. Try your luck with some gold-panning this Summer, or swim in some of the best swimming holes west of the Mississippi! Be sure to bring your camera! (Swim suits are optional on many parts of this River.)
Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park is another nearby travel destination. Check out what used to be Humbug, California, and travel back in time to an old gold mining town. Take a walking tour of the Victorian area of downtown Nevada City, and check out the nearby goldrush town of Grass Valley with their many antique shops and movie theaters. The memories you take home with you will never be forgotten.
Our Nevada City CA hotel is also a short drive to the ski resorts in the area, and we are just 70 miles from gorgeous Lake Tahoe.  If you are feeling lucky, The Thunder Valley Casino is just over a 40-mile drive from here, and Reno is less than 90 miles away. We have several wine-tasting places nearby as well. There is truly something for everyone in Gold Country!
Have a wedding in your future? The Northern Queen Inn also offers a great wedding venue area next to our year-round running creek and waterfall! We have multiple room styles for your guests to choose from, including 2-story chalets with loft bedrooms and full kitchens, as well as cabins with kitchenettes that are perfect for couples or small families. We also offer standard rooms with Queen Beds. All of our standard rooms come with a coffee-maker and a small refrigerator, and they include the same great amenities that the cabins and chalets have.

Call us today at (800) 226-3090 or you can book online at www.northernqueeninn.com. We are located at 400 Railroad Avenue in Nevada City, just off of Highway 49. We are looking forward to serving your needs and making your stay with us a memorable one that will make you want to return again and again!

  3. Restaurants experience a large number of patrons and employees coming through their doors each day. The security issues these businesses face is diverse, from slip and fall injuries to theft to “dine-and-dashers.” Restaurant owners can be faced with heavy monetary losses in false liability claims and theft. Surveillance systems can prevent these types of cases as well as help improve customer service.

Slip and fall cases are perhaps one of the biggest issues restaurateurs face. Employees and patrons who falsely claim slip and fall injuries can demand thousands of dollars and cause insurance rates to go through the roof. With surveillance systems, any reported slip and fall injuries would be recorded and footage can be reviewed to determine if the claims are legitimate. If the claim is false, footage can be submitted to the insurance company and/or lawyers to prevent the restaurant owner from losing money.
